This rich sandwich is a definite knife-and-forker! The fun starts with two buttery-edged pieces of Texas Toast, loaded up with a warm cheesy lobster salad. Topped with an optional fried egg.

Went here for the first time for my GF's Birthday. Everything was absolutely perfect. Atmosphere, waitress and food were all amazing! Experience is something special! Will be returning!

  • Karin C.

So so many amazing flavors and delicious things to eat here but I think my favorite of all was the rib eye steak. Also the peanut butter stuffed jalapeƱos were amazing!

  • Simon A.

I had the triple smoked ribeye. It was the best piece of meat I have ever had. Well seasoned too with a mustard and vinaigrette dressing and garnished with a small salad.

The beer garden has almost 30 brews on tap, but the smart money goes to the spectacular selection of bourbons, some from the restaurant's own bottling. Read more

You really cannot go wrong with this place, my biggest problem is my client appts are so last minute it's hard to make reservations. It's a must if you want the full menu experience.

  • Kate P.

Meat, meat, meat! The Charcuterie plate is to die for. The pork chop is enough for two. The rib is all you Fred Flintstone fantasies come true. Bourbon drinks are amazing too. Sit in the bar.

  • Jeremy C.

Worth going 2 Minneapolis just to go here. Asian glazed pork ribs and glass of smoked porter. Excellent. Great whiskey and beer list, homemade sausages, lively but not obnoxious scene. Eat here!

The new beer garden menu is a hit. Creative sandwiches and a variety of sausages, how can you go wrong? Tasty sides, too. Finish it all off with a hot apple hand pie and the house Buffalo Trace.

  • Claudio

The best in town for meat. I love stuffed jalapenos as snack. We had the rib eye that when we went, was the butcher's cut. The must is the smoked beef long rib: I've never eaten so tender meat before!

  • Katie M.

This was some of the best food I've had in a while. The samplers are great, the fries are amazing and I'd recommend the fried green tomatoes. Definitely going back soon. Great drunk list too.

Duck carnitas salad was amazing - best duck I've ever had. Sausage sampling and hot buffalo Brussels sprouts w/ blue cheese sauce were sooo satisfying. I will dream about those sprouts! Nice staff too

Best Bourbon List - Some joints use "bourbon" as a come-on, but these guys walk the walk. The deep, long list delivers various proofs of known brands plus private-label you won't find elsewhere. Read more

Incredible. Go with the sausage appetizer. The pork chop was abig winner, butcher's cut not far behind. Dessert winner was the grasshopper semifreddo, the banana dessert next favorite. Bring 6+ people

Food is great, and service as well. But the valet parking guys leave around 10:30, and they will place everyone's car keys at the bar. Makes you wonder what would they do if someone takes your car?

  • Susan R.

The brat was great: soft, chewy bun, juicy, crisp brat, and horseradish- spiked kraut. Downside: Wish our server was more engaged.

Not a great spot to bring kids. Mussels are awesome and do order a side of Texas toast to sop up that glorious garlicky butter that they steam them in. (The mussels only come w/ 2 pieces of toast.)

Incredible! Best pork I have ever had in my entire life. Their Foie Gras is also very tasty. Make reservations FAR in advance! (I know the Soux chef!)

The beer garden burger is fantastic. Add on fries for only $1.

Voted City Pages top ten Sandwhiches! Butcher and the Boar brings luxury and decadence to the forefront with its lobster grilled cheese ($18, or $20 with a fried organic egg).

Loved everything about this restaurant. The peanut butter jalapeƱos and fried green tomatoes are a must.

  • Ben M. heart icon on user image

The beer garden is a great place to hangout after work. The menu is much more affordable than the restaurant. Awesome atmosphere and food

  • Amy J.

Holy cozy! What a fun bar. Great cocktails, cute bartenders and a fireplace outside! Hope it doesn't get overrun by douchebags...or their female equivalents in the summer.

Come hungry! Green chorizo and the beef long rib made up one of the best meals I've ever had. Take your leftovers in case you run into a hungry person downtown.

  • Mike M. heart icon on user image

Great cocktails, great sausages, great steaks, great ribs, great pork chops...hell, it's all good!

  • Albert L. heart icon on user image

The beef long rib is one of the best pieces of meat I've ever eaten. Its smoked and glazed with a delicious sweet and spicy sauce.

  • Tom H. heart icon on user image

Get the Smoked Beef Long Rib. It's huge. Succulent meat and a sweet (but spicy) Tabasco-molasses BBQ sauce. It's serves two people, so the $32 price is a great deal.

Liked the Brussels sprouts more than the meat! Meat was amazing too.

It's all amazing. I had the pork chop and it was the best I ever had. Huge portions too!

The new grilled leg of lamb dish is awesome. Lamb two ways: steak and sausage. Absolutely delicious.

  • Huy L. heart icon on user image

Amazing! Lobster grilled cheese is to die for. Beer battered fries will give you life. And the cheese platter is a MUST!!!

Patio is the place to be on weekends. People often overlook this awesome spot in favor of Brit's or other outdoor drinking establishments.

  • Michael L. heart icon on user image

You have to have the double pork chop, it's absolutely amazing! And don't forget the bone marrow appetizer.

  • Kristin

First place I have ever been to that has a "beer specialist", sample the beers and the bourbons, you won't be disappointed!

  • Arielle L.

Great food with a whiskey garden in the back. Awesome place to sit outside and enjoy the weather and a beverage!

  • Eric A. heart icon on user image

The pastrami here is amazing — good luck trying to eat it as a sandwich!

  • Savon S.

Excellent bourbon list! Pork chop was amazing along with the bison ribs. Sides were good as well - we had the sweet potato, cornbread and spinach.

  • Lucy P. heart icon on user image

The sausages are HUGE. One each and a couple of sides was more than enough for 2

  • Dirty B.

Hands-down one of the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. Impeccable service incredible food and an experience of a lifetime

  • Anna K.

If you don't get the smoked beef long rib, cheesy grits, Brussels sprouts, corn bread, duck sausage, and sweet potato...then why are you even here!?
